Burlington Residents/Workers Honored as Chopps Champions

Who are Burlington’s heroes? 

 

Last Week Chopps American Bar & Grill and the Boston Marriott Burlington held the 3rd Annual Chopps Champions, a community-wide contest to salute those who make a difference in Burlington. 

 

There were winners in six categories who were nominated and voted in by members of the communities. Those categories were Technology, Healthcare, Education, Businesses, Military/First Responders and Community. 

 

The winners received dinner for four at Chopps American Bar & Grill, 100,000 Marriott points, and the Boston Marriott Burlington donated $1,000 to each winner's designated charity.

 

The winners honored last week are: 

 

Business: Brendan Stapleton, owner of Fitness Together.

 

Charity: Nashoba Learning Center. 

 

Community: Julie Quinn, Co-Chair of the Burlington Relay for Life 

 

Charity: American Cancer Society 

 

Education: Renee Dacey, Burlington High School World Language Department Chair 

 

Charity: The Mama Bear Effect

 

Military/First Responder: Eric Fitzgerald and William Toland. On December 9, 2015, the pair responded to a woman in labor and delivered her baby in an ambulance on the side of the road. 

 

Charity: Dan Fahey Fall Classic 

 

Healthcare: Patricia Toye, RN, BS, Lahey Health Center

 

Charity: People Helping People 

 

Technology: Mike Lewis, VP of Marketing at Everbridge, Inc. 

 

Charity: Autism Speaks
