Middlesex DA to Speak on Senior, Subscription Drugs and Safety in Burlington
Prescription drugs can work wonders for their intended users but when they are abused, or used by people who aren’t subscribed them, they can be dangerous, even fatal.
To help combat that dangerous possibility, the Burlington Council on Aging is hosting part 2 of of the Grandparent Protection Series on the topic of subscription drug safety. The program will featuring Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan who will talk about safeguarding medication, how to identify drug abuse in family/friends and how to get them help and also be available to answer question.
“With the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the midst of an unprecedented public health epidemic, Middlesex District Attorney Marian T. Ryan has developed a free safety program for senior citizens to raise awareness about the opioid crisis, specifically how it directly impacts them and their loved ones,” a release on the program states. “District Attorney Ryan will discuss the far-reaching effects of this problem as well as offer dips on how to manage prescription medication using the File of Life program.
The program will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Monday, March 27 at the Burlington Senior Center, 61 Center Street. Call 781-270-1950 to reserve a spot.
