New Curb Cut Allows Exit from Burlington Marketplace onto Lexington Street

By: Rich Hosford

Guests to the Burlington Marketplace now have a new way of exiting its notoriously difficult parking lot.

A second curb cut has been completed, allowing motorists leaving the shops to exit out onto Lexington Street.

The Burlington Marketplace is the plaza on Mall Road that houses Chipotle, Starbucks, b.Good Burgers and the new Upper Crust Pizzeria among other restaurants and stores (see photos below).

However, the new exit is not as convenient for drivers as it could be. Due to concerns from residents living on side streets off of Lexington Street, the Planning Board approved the project with the condition that it be a left turn only. This means motorists can turn left and immediately be at the light at the intersection with Mall Road.

The extra curb cut should, however, alleviate the backup that often forms at the Mall Road exit during peak times.
