Residents Concerned Over AMC Parking

By: BNEWS Weekly

A local resident, who is unhappy with the current parking situation at Burlington’s AMC movie theater, recently brought the issue to the attention of the Planning Board. The problem stems from AMC’s lower parking lot being closed off due to National Development’s construction of a new restaurant, getting rid of a great deal of parking spaces. With the lack of spaces to park at the theater, moviegoers have taken to parking along Second Avenue; an offense that warrants a ticket.

The resident is requesting that National Developments reopens the lot to accommodate the movie theater’s overflow traffic, which is at its height on Thursdays through Sundays.

Planning Director Kristin Kassner attributed the problem to the large amount of construction that is going on the area, but is working to fix the problem.
