Two-Alarm Fire Engulfs Kings

A huge fire engulfed the Burlington Kings Bowl on April 13th.  The bowling alley and dining venue, located in the 3rd Ave development, was under construction and scheduled to open April 28th.  Burlington firefighters responded to the two-alarm blaze shortly after 10pm.  Parts of the structure collapsed, and firefighters were ordered out of the building at one point.  Firefighters from Woburn, Lexington, Wilmington, Reading, and Bedford helped fight the blaze.  The main body of the fire was extinguished shortly after midnight.

Kings was already getting involved in the community and was scheduled to host the Burlington High School post-graduation party June 8th.  Incidentally the orientation of 200 new employees was cancelled.

Kings Burlington was to be the biggest and most ambitious King’s yet with nearly double the bowling lanes, private screening room and other new features.  In a release from Kings Bowl America owner Patrick Lyons stated Kings Burlington will rebuild and hopes to be open within a year.
