Upper Crust Pizzeria to Open in Burlington Soon

By: Rich Hosford

A Boston-based pizzeria will soon be opening a location in Burlington.

Upper Crust Pizzeria will open its doors on April 11 in the Burlington Marketplace on Mall Road in the location formerly occupied by Yeh Frozen Yogurt.

According to its web site, The Upper Crust Pizzeria was founded on Beacon Hill’s historic Charles Street in 2001. Since that time the business has expanded through the Boston area, with locations in Lexington, Brookline, Cambridge, the South End and Watertown, among others.

Director of Operations Shawn Shenefield said the company is excited to locate in Burlington and be part of the growth the town has seen in the last number of years.

We are excited, Burlington is a great town,” he said. “There is a lot of growth here and companies moving here and we’re excited to be a part of it.”

When asked what made their pizza different he said all the ingredients are locally sourced and the tomatoes used in the sauce are hand-picked instead of from a can. The pizzas are thin-crust and the pizzeria has a number of specialty orders.
