Burlington High Teams Lose Important Match Ups

By: Robert Parris

Plenty of action went down on Monday and Tuesday afternoon for the Burlington High School spring sports teams.

Both the Boys and Girls Lacrosse teams had a tough time going up against the Lexington Minutemen. The boys traveled to Lincoln Fields where Lexington scored a total of 10 points. The Red Devils score only 7 points. The Lady Devils went up against the Minutemen at home at Marshall Simonds Middle School’s Brush Field where they lost 6 points. The final score of that game was 16-10 Lexington. The Lady Devils will be traveling to Arlington to take on the Spy Ponders on Monday, May 13 at 4:15 p.m. The boys will play against the Stoneham Spartans on Tuesday, May 14 at 5 p.m. at Varsity Field.

The Red Devil Baseball team had a home game against the Reading Rockets on Monday afternoon. Unfortunately, the boys lost in that game against the Rockets. The team will travel to Lexington to take on the Minutemen on Wednesday, May 8 at 4 p.m.

The tennis teams did not have a good day against Lexington either. Both teams suffered a loss against the Minutemen. The boys couldn’t get any points on the board as they were shutout at home 5-0 Lexington. However, the girls put one point on the board in their matchup but the Minutemen won it 4-1. Burlington Senior Madison Metzdorf had another win for her individual match up. She leads the way in single wins this season. The team will travel to Arlington to take on the Spy Ponders on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
