Burlington Police Officer Charged with Domestic Assault and Battery

A Burlington Police Officer has been arrested and arraigned in his hometown on charges of assault and battery. 


According to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan’s office, David H. McLean, 51, of Dracut was arraigned on April 2, 2020 on the charge of assault and battery on a household or family member in connection with an alleged altercation that occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. on April 2 at a Dracut residence.


McLean, according to the Burlington town website, is a sergeant with the Burlington Police Department. 


“During the incident the defendant allegedly assaulted an adult female victim who is known to him after a verbal argument,” a spokesperson for the District Attorney said.   


The defendant was released on personal recognizance and ordered to stay away from and have no contact with the victim and to consume no alcohol. The judge in this case was Judge Stacey Fortes, the next court date is June 18, 2020.
