‘Affordable Organic’ Brand Hope & Henry to Open First New England Location in Burlington Mall

By: Rich Hosford

A clothing brand that focuses on using organic materials and pledges to support its foreign-based workers will open its first New England location in the Burlington Mall.

Simon Properties, owner of the mall, announced last week that “the popular and affordable” organic brand Hope & Henry will open on the second-floor in the Primark wing in early October.

The brand, which former Gymboree CEO Matthew McCauley started online, opened its first store in 2018 in Garden City, New York.

“Hope & Henry was born from the belief that beautiful, high quality clothing can be affordable to all without sacrificing the well-being of people and the planet,” the release states. “For Hope & Henry, sustainability means crafting garments that are classic, timeless and made to last.”

The company’s website says the brand focuses on organic materials because they are better for consumers, those who make the clothes, and the environment.

We love organic cotton and use it everywhere we can,” it states. “We believe increasing the use of organic cotton - free from pesticides and insecticides - can help protect farmers, their communities and the earth.”

The company also says it believes success should be shared with everyone in the production line of its clothing.

“The fashion industry is notorious for paying low wages to factory workers,” the website states. “We believe the talented women and men sewing our clothes are crucial to our success, and so should share in the company’s success. Hope & Henry works to reduce poverty by sharing profits with the factory workers who bring our vision to life.”
