Avoid a Ticket or Tow - Heed Burlington's Parking Ban

By: Rich Hosford

With a possibly-historic snowstorm predicted for the next couple of day it would be wise to help the DPW plow and avoid a ticket or a tow at the same time.

Burlington's winter parking ban is in effect and it's extra important to heed it during a storm.

During the ban no vehicles can be parked on the side of the road between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. The ban is put in place to make snow removal easier for the Department of Public Works.

The ban is enforced by the Burlington Police Department. Offenders can be subject to a fine of $50 per offense. Also, if a vehicle parked on the side of the road interferes with snow removal the town may have it towed at the owner's expense.
