BHS to Perform Ray Bradbury's 'Fahrenheit 451'

The following is a release from Burlington High School Performing Arts:

Burlington High School will present its fall drama production, Fahrenheit 451 on Friday, December 15 at 7:30 pm and Saturday, December 16 at 2:00 pm. Both performances will take place in the Fogelberg Performing Arts Center of the high school.

Based on Ray Bradbury’s internationally acclaimed novel published in 1953, it is a powerful drama about the inner struggle of Guy Montag, a fireman. Set in a bleak, dystopian future, Montag has worked as a civil servant for ten years burning books, but lately he has become increasingly unsure about what he is doing and about his vegetable-like existence. It is not until he meets 16-year-old Clarisse, who is filled with strange ideas, that he is led into a dangerous and highly combustible situation. Now he must choose between continuing his nonexistent existence and risking everything for the right to think.

Directed by Kade Hill, the cast of Fahrenheit 451 is led by Ben Horgan as Guy Montag, Michelle Pothier as Captain Beatty, Mia Campbell as Clarisse, Caitlin Shea as Mildred, Erin Kerr as Professor Faber, Luis Vallalta as Holden and Ivy Saltsman as Mrs. Hudson.
