Board of Health Gives Residents an Opportunity to Dispose Household Hazardous Waste


Do you have any unused hazardous materials lying around your house?


The Burlington Board of Health will be conducting their semi-annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, September 22nd from 8:30am to 12pm at Francis Wyman Elementary School.


This collection event is for Burlington residents only and provides an opportunity for proper disposal and recycling of household quantities of hazardous materials. Proof of residency will be required. 


Hazardous waster materials include: oils, gasoline, pesticides, pool chemicals, propane tanks, car batteries and mercury containing materials will also be accepted. All materials should be transported in sturdy containers. 


Latex paint, Medical sharps, and expired/unwanted medications will NOT be accepted. However, there are sharp kiosks available at the Burlington Fire and Police Departments.
