Bonefish Grill at Wayside Closes its Doors
By: Rich Hosford
Another Burlington restaurant has closed its door for good this week.
As reported on BNEWS, on December 28 Bobby’s Burger Palace closed at the Burlington Mall.
On Monday of this week, Bonefish Grill in the Wayside shopping center also closed, a call to the restaurant confirmed.
Bonefish Grill opened in the renovated Wayside center in November of 2013. It offered a combination of fish, seafood and steaks as well as specialty drinks and a large craft-beer selection. During its grand opening it held a charitable event for the Burlington Chamber of Commerce’s Charitable Foundation that raised $10,015 to support the Burlington’s Relay for Life and the DuLong Scholarship Fund.
A statement from parent company Bloomin’ Brands Inc. expressed regret at the closing.
“Closing the restaurant was not an easy decision and was made based solely on business circumstances,” the statement reads. “We appreciate our guests who’ve supported us and invite them to visit our Waltham restaurant, which will remain open.”
Bloomin’ Brands Inc. said some team members will have an opportunity to transfer to a nearby restaurant and that all employees received a severance package.
