The Burlington Police Department has issued a summons to a Boston woman on a number of charges, including operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, after a crash involving an officer’s SUV last week.

As reported on BNEWS, at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, Burlington officers responded to a crash at 275 Cambridge Street on a report a sedan collided with a police cruiser and then a building.

Upon arrival, officers found a 31-year-old Boston woman, now identified as Susan Theresa Bodnar, driving a 2017 Nissan Altima, had collided with a marked Burlington police SUV. The officer driving was on patrol in the area. According to the report, the sedan continued after the collision and went off the road and struck a commercial building. The building sustained damage and the town building inspector was called to the scene.

Both the driver and police officer were transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The officer was released that night. The extent of the Bodnar’s injuries have not been released.

This week the Burlington Police Department logs state that a summons has been issued for Bodnar on charges of Motor Vehicle OUI-Liquor, Failure to Keep Right for Oncoming Vehicle, a Marked Lanes Violation, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Speeding and Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
