BPL Book Bundles

By: Tad Stephanak

The Burlington Public Library has begun offering Book Bundles.

A BPL Book Bundle is a package of publications that are personally selected for you by a librarian. Book Bundles can be received monthly or bi-monthly for adults, teens and kids in the third grade and up.

Young Adult Librarian Nicole Monk brought the program to Burlington.

“Subscription boxes have taken off in the last couple years and this is our take on that,” Monk said. “I thought it was a really fun idea so I brought it here and the staff jumped on board. We all do it together. Its’ not delivered to your door but it is a personalized selection.”

To determine an individual's taste in books patrons fill out a quick on line form.

“We have a survey that askes you different questions,” Monk stated. “What your favorite genres are, some of your favorite books and even what you like to watch on TV to get an idea what kind of story telling you enjoy. Your Book Bundle is based off of that.”

Monk noted that they have the ability to make your Book Bundle like a subscription box.

“We will put them in a bag and dress them up with decorative wrapping and tissue paper to make it more like a present,” Monk said.

You can pick up your Book Bundle in person at the Burlington Public library or recommendations can be emailed. This is a great option as they will send you links for e-books or e-audios.
