Residents looking for some furniture have a new place to check out.

Oak Furniture Land opened its first United States store in Burlington’s Wayside Plaza last month. The privately-owned British furniture retailer specialises in fully assembled hardwood furniture with a focus on pieces made with oak and mango wood. It has been selling in the United States through its website since 2016 but now has its first physical location in the country.

“We’ve got a new ‘stately’ home - we’ve opened the doors of our first US store in Burlington, Massachusetts,” the retailer said in an announcement on Facebook. “Discover solid hardwood furniture to suit your home, with style and quality at prices you won’t expect.”

According to the announcement, Oak Furniture Land offers a variety of hardwood furniture pieces in a wide range of styles.

“We have a wide, curated range of solid hardwood furniture collections for you to see, in a mix of traditional and modern styles,” the company said. “We’ve got simple natural and rustic oak, rich and exotic mango hardwood, or fresh, painted collections. You’ll also find a wide choice of sofa collections, in both luxurious fabrics and 100 percent real leather, all designed for long-lived comfort.”

According to its website, the company sells direct to customers pieces that they contract from locations around the world rather than using wholesalers.

“Instead of buying from expensive wholesalers who take a cut, we design all our products ourselves and manufacture via exclusive contracts with overseas suppliers,” the website explains. “We are proud to offer more than 20 collections of hardwood furniture with items suitable for every room in the house.”
