Burlington Mall Reopened on Wednesday with Limited Hours and Social Distancing Protocols

By: Rich Hosford

The Burlington Mall is now open with reduced hours and social distancing requirements and restrictions.

The mall will be open from Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 12 to 6 p.m. during Phase 2 of the state’s reopening plan, which is slated to last until early July.

During this time the mall’s capacity will be limited (50 square feet per person) and if it is exceeded patrons may be asked to wait in their cars until others leave. There will also be distancing guidelines in stores to keep people separate and customers are asked to wear facial coverings. Free masks and sanitizing wipe packets will be available to shoppers at designated entrances or at the mall office.

Some services, such as child play areas, drinking fountains, valet and mall-provided strollers will not be available during this phase.

To help ensure the public’s safety, all mall employees working with the public will be required to wear facial coverings. Employees will also be temperature-checked before shifts and anyone with a temperature over 100.4 degrees or who has flu-like symptoms will not be allowed to work. Employees will also be encouraged to take frequent breaks for hand washing.

At all public entrances, customers will be asked to refrain from entering the property if they, or anyone they have been in contact with, are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or have experienced symptoms in the 72 hours prior to their visit.
