Burlington Police and Fire to Host Community Safety Night

Come out for a night to learn about public safety and have fun checking out fire and police vehicles and equipment.

The Burlington Police Department and Burlington Fire Department are once again hosting a Community Safety Night. The event will be on Wednesday, August 2 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on the 3rd Ave green and Wegman’s property.

“The annual Community Safety Night offers a unique opportunity for the community to interact with members of the Burlington Police and Fire Departments in an informal setting,” an invite for the event reads. “Attendees will be able to interact with police and fire vehicles and equipment, view K-9 displays and enjoy live music featuring dueling pianos. Free hot dogs will also be available.”

Burlington Detective and Board of Selectmen member Jim Tigges said that this year the event will be bigger than ever before.

“We’ll have lots of equipment there and many organizations will be in attendance,” he said. “We will also have a lot of free giveaways.”

Along with the chance to meet with officers and firefighters and see the equipment, the evening is meant to be educational and help residents be aware of what types of resources are available when they need them.

This event is sponsored by 3rd Ave Burlington and Wegmans.
