The Burlington Police Department has a new member.

Officer Eric MaGee was appointed by Town Administrator John Petrin on Monday, Aug. 15 and will attend a Municipal Police Training Committee academy in September. He was highly recommended by Chief Michael Kent.

Before coming to Burlington, Officer MaGee served as a police officer on the Hanscom Air Force Base and as a Petty Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard. He attended the University of Massachusetts Lowell, earning a bachelor's degree in criminal justice in 2014.

Officer MaGee is a true Burlington local. He grew up in town, graduated from Burlington High School and currently lives in Burlington.

“I'm very excited to welcome Officer MaGee to the Burlington Police Department,” Chief Kent said. “His hard work, dedication and knowledge of the Burlington community will be a vital asset to the department."
