Burlington Senior Center to Host Job Networking Meetings for Residents Over 50

The Burlington Senior Center is hosting job networking events for people 50 years and older who are interesting in gaining employment, switching jobs or finding a new “encore career.”

“Did you know 85 percent of all jobs are found through Networking?” a release from the Burlington Council on aging asks. “Join us in a professional forum for networking with peers in a safe and comfortable environment conducive to developing new relationships and developing skills and strategies to help in your career transition.”

Each biweekly meeting is facilitated by an experienced career coach and features a new topic.  Meetings include a presentation and hands-on workshop on topics relevant to career transition/job search, guest speakers, access to hiring managers, ample opportunity to network and 1-1 coaching guidance.  Participating on a regular basis will give job seekers the many tools and strategies needed for a successful job search.

The September 50+ Job Seekers networking meetings will take place on the second and fourth Tuesdays, from 9 to 11 a.m. in Room 207 at the Senior Center at 61 Center Street. The topics are Self-Assessment/Transferrable Skills on the 10th and Developing a resume on the 24th.  For program pre-registration visit the Job Seekers web page at www.mcoaonline/50plus.
