Burlington Town Election Nomination Papers Available

Town government works best when dedicated people are involved and now is the chance for those interested in running for a public office or Town Meeting seat to throw their hat in the ring.

 

Papers are now available for anyone considering a run in the 2020 Burlington Town Election. Papers can be picked up in the Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall. The deadline to pull papers is Wednesday, February 12 at 5 p.m. and the deadline to file them is Friday, February 14.

Anyone running for a town-wide seat needs 50 signatures from eligible Burlington voters. Those running for Town Meeting need 10 signatures. 

 

 The following seats are up for election this year:

 

- Moderator (1 year) (1 seat)

- Selectmen (3 years) (1 seat)

- Assessor (3 years) (1 seat)

- School Committee (3 years) (2 seat)

- Library Trustees (3 years) (2 seats)

- Planning Board (5 years) (2 seats)

- Planning Board (2 years) (1 seat)

- Board of Health (3 years) (1 seat)

- Recreation Commission (3 years) (1 seat)

- Shawsheen Tech. H.S. (3 years) (1 seat)

- Precinct 1 TMM (3 years) (6 seats)

- Precinct 1 TMM (2 years) (1 seat)

- Precinct 2 TMM (3 years) (6 seats)

- Precinct 3 TMM (3 years) (6 seats)

- Precinct 4 TMM (3 years) (6 seats)

- Precinct 5 TMM (3 years) (6 seats)

- Precinct 5 TMM (1 year) (1 seat)

- Precinct 6 TMM (3 years) (6 seats)

- Precinct 6 TMM (2 years) (1 seat)

- Precinct 7 TMM (3 years) (6 seats)

The 2020 Annual Town Election will be held on Saturday, April 4 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Burlington High School gymnasium.
