Burlington UCC to Hold Annual Spring Recital


The Burlington community is invited to enjoy an afternoon of musical performances at one of the town’s oldest churches.


The United Church of Christ Congregational at 6 Lexington Street in Burlington invites the community to share in an Annual Spring Recital on Sunday, May 20 at 3 p.m., a notice from the church states.


The show will feature performances by mezzo-soprano Katie Frigon and organist Joe Stoddard. Katie will be singing a variety of music from the Baroque era to Jazz and Broadway. Joe’s portion of the program will feature the organ music of Dietrich Buxtehude and Hermann Schroeder.


“The performers share a lifelong love of music and are teachers in Marblehead Schools,” the release states. “In addition to teaching, Katie shares her vocal talent performing for as soloist at events, churches and was featured soloist for Enon Brass Ensemble in Wenham. Joe currently is the organist and music director at this church. They are delighted to be able to share their incredible musical gifts at this event.”


All are welcome to attend. There is no admission charge, but there will be an opportunity for a freewill offering to benefit the church and its Music programs. The recital will be held in the church’s sanctuary and a reception will follow in Sewall Hall in the adjacent building.
