A Burlington group dedicated to helping those in need is holding a fundraiser that can also help you get a jump on your Holiday shopping.

Burlington Womenade, a non-profit organization, is holding a fundraiser through October 31. The group is selling In a Pikle handbags with 20 percent of each sale going to help fund the group’s activities. The In a Pikle handbags are compact organizer for essential convenience items needed for the daily emergencies of life, a release states. It is camouflaged to look like a designer wallet. Inside are 8 clear, removable pouches that attach to the fashionable cover. It is designed to hold a stain remover pen, bandages, nail clippers, tweezers, safety pins, and much more.

“We’ve all found ourselves in a pickle at times,” the release states. “These are the moments you never expect and are not prepared for! A spill on your shirt, a missing button, an errant hair, a torn finger nail, or food stuck in your teeth.”

Burlington Womenade started in 2011 as a way for women in the community to work together to support local families in crisis and as a way to network and socialize. The group holds pot luck events where members bring a gift card from local stores that are donated to families in need. Recipients of the gift cards include a person or family in town struggling with an economic hardship, illness a death in the family or other tragedies.
