Clear Your Home and Garage of Hazardous Materials
Clear out the hazardous materials that have built up in your garages, attic, basement, closets and under the sink in a safe and environmentally friendly way.
The Burlington Board of Health will conduct a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, September 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Francis Wyman Elementary School, 41 Terrace Hall Avenue. This collection event is for Burlington Residents only and provides an opportunity for proper disposal of household quantities of hazardous materials. Proof of residency will be required.
Oils, gasoline, pesticides, pool chemicals, propane tanks, car batteries, and mercury containing materials will be accepted for proper recycling or disposal. All materials should be transported in sturdy containers. Medical sharps and expired/unwanted medications will not be accepted; however, a sharps kiosk is available at the Fire Department and a medication kiosk is available at the Police Department.
