Frank Pepe's Pizzeria Announcing Opening Date

The anticipated opening of a well-known and award winning pizzeria has been announced.

Frank Pepe’s Pizzeria said in a statement that it will open its doors in the former Uno’s location in the Burlington Mall on Monday, June 10.


“The celebration will kick-off with an official ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. and doors will open to the public at 11:00 a.m., which is when guests will have the chance to order delicious Pepe’s pizzas,” the release states.

The 98-seat full service restaurant will be Frank Pepe’s second Massachusetts location, the other being in Chestnut Hill, but many people have heard of the well-known Connecticut based establishment. Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana is one of the country’s oldest pizzerias. It was founded in 1925 by Frank Pepe who was born in the town of Maiori, on the Amalfi, Naples, Frank Pepe.


As the business grew it earned a loyal following and quite a few awards. It was named to the James Beard Foundation’s list of “America’s Classics” in 1999 and was called the “Best Pizza on Earth” by The Guardian in 2009. The Daily Meal named Pepe’s white clam pizza the “best pizza in the country” two years in a row in 2013 and 2014, among other accolades from other publications.
