Get Out and Enjoy Nature With Guided Tour of Burlington’s Landlocked Forest

Get into the spirit of spring and enjoy one of Burlington’s beautiful natural spots with a guided walk of the Landlocked Forest.

The Friends of the Landlocked Forest is holding the first guided walk of the season on Saturday, May 4, at 1 p.m. The event is co-sponsored by Athleta, the women’s sports apparel store at the Burlington Mall who will provide water, snacks, an exclusive store discount, and one lucky attendee will win a $50 Athleta shop card. Athleta will also make a donation to the Burlington Fourth of July Parade, a release from the Friends says.

The second guided walk will be held Saturday, June 1, at 1 p.m. Rain dates for both walks are Sunday, May 5, and June 2, respectively.

Those interested in attending can meet at the kiosk on Turning Mill Road (at the parking lot under the power lines) in Lexington or meet in the parking lot in the back of the Burlington Town Hall at 12:45 p.m.to caravan over. The walk will be approximately 3 miles. All ages are welcome.

The Landlocked Forest features woodlands, wetlands, streams and meadows. Maps of hiking trail system provided at beginning of walk. For more info, go to the website at www.landlockedforest.com or contact the Friends of the Landlocked Forest at landlockedforest@aol.com.
