Gov. Baker Extends Closing of Non-Essential Businesses

By: Rich Hosford

Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker extended the stay-at-home advisory and the closing of non-essential businesses.

The governor announced on Tuesday afternoon that the order will now run through May 4. Originally it was set to expire on April 7.

Baker also announced that all hotels, motels and Air BnB’s can only book guests who have some COVID-19 related reason for needing a room such as healthcare workers and people who are displaced from their homes. No rooms can be rented for leisure or vacation purposes.

“I know this is difficult to hear but people must continue with social distancing for health and safety,” he said.
