Latest Library News: Science Blast, Toto the Tornado Kitten, Teen Oreo Taste-Off

Veteran’s Day Closure – Monday, November 11th

The library will be closed Monday, November 11th in honor of Veteran’s Day, and will reopen at 10am on Tuesday, November 12th.

Youth Services Programs

Remember to visit the library this week: we have plenty to keep the kids busy during their break! Although we are closed on Veteran’s Day, we will be going strong the rest of the week.


Playing is Learning - Thursday, November 7 @1 pm Free drop-in play group for preschool children, sponsored by Family ACCESS.


Science Blast - Thursday, November 7 @ 4 pm Join Amanda for exciting experiments. This week: apple science! Grades K-6


Baby Sensory Time - Friday, November 8 @ 10:30 am Bring the babies for some parallel play with Amanda, other babies, and stimulating sensory toys.


Teen Lounge - Friday, November 8 @ 2:30 pm Kick back at the end of a long week with Nicole and your friends. Snacks and games are provided.


Frozen Sing-Along - Saturday, November 9 @ 11 am Bring the whole family for the sing-along version of this movie favorite.


Super Mario Party - Saturday, November 9 @ 3 pm Nicole will have Mario themed games and snacks, and of course the game!  Ages 8 and up


Toto the Tornado Kitten - Tuesday, November 12 @ 11 am Meet the valiant kitty and hear his exciting survival story read by his proud owner/rescuer!


Teen Oreo Taste-Off - Tuesday, November 12 @ 7 pm Compete to see who can identify the most Oreo flavors in a blind taste test. Prize for the best taster! Grades 6-12


Family Movie and Popcorn - Wednesday, November 13 @ 11 am All ages are welcome for a family favorite.


Teen Drop-In Volunteering - Wednesday, November 13 @ 2 pm Help Nicole prep the crafts for the upcoming Sleeping Beauty program.


Mother-Daughter Book Club - Thursday, November 14 @ 6 pm Join Amanda for a mother-daughter bonding experience over books featuring strong female characters. Enjoy good conversation, snacks, and crafts related to the featured book. This month’s book, The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street, is available for checkout at the Children’s desk. Grades 3-6


Toddler and Preschool Story and Craft - Friday, November 15 Toddlers @ 10:30 am & Preschoolers @ 11:30 am


Teen After Hours Lock-in - Friday, November 15 @ 4:45 pm Join Nicole and Jenna for a party in the library! Bring a permission slip signed by a parent. All participants must be here by 4:45 pm. After that, the door will be locked.


Saturday Stories - Saturday, November 16 @ 11 am Stories and songs for ages 2-6

Baby Storytime (Birth-18 Months) - Mondays @ 10:30 am


Toddler Storytime (18-36 Months) - Tuesdays and Wednesdays @ 10:30 am


Preschool Storytime (Ages 3-6) - Wednesdays @ 11 am


Story and Craft - Fridays, Oct. 18, November 15, and December 20: Toddlers (18-36 Months) @ 10:30 am, Preschoolers (Ages 3-6) @ 11:30 am
