Burlington Public Library Board of Trustees Vacancies - Would you like to give back to Burlington byhelping an educational, cultural and recreational treasure in Town? We will have three Trustee positions on the ballot this April and are looking for Burlington residents to join us in supporting and expanding our services to the community. Winter Read N’ Bead - January 2-February 22

Have you signed up for the Winter Beading Program? You still have time, and it’s easy and fun! Just click on Winter Reading 2018 on our webpage and enter first and last names of the children participating. Pick up a Reading Log at the Children’s Desk, so you can earn reading beads and raffle tickets. The program runs through February 22. Teens you can earn prizes this winter as well! Sign up from our website. You earn one raffle ticket for every two hours you read towards one of our five prize baskets. Baskets are filled with books, coloring books, water bottles, candy and more! For extra fun complete challenges. If 50% of the challenges are completed Nicole will dip dye her hair a crazy color. Going on now until February 22!

Sign-Up online @ burlingtonpubliclibrary.org by clicking Winter Reading 2018 under the Kids tab. Bestfor grades pre-K to 5th grade, all are welcome to participate.

 

Youth Services Programs

 

Baby Sensory Time is back: bring in your baby on Monday for a sensory smorgasbord! Another return program is Tinker Lab. Our department has been collecting junk for you to turn into fabulous inventions you can then take home. The target age for this program is Grade 3-6. See where your imagination can take you!

 

Tinker Lab - Thursday, February 1, 4-4:45 Join Mary for an opportunity for imagination and problem solving! Kids can design and build their own inventions out of junk. Finished projects can go home. Grades K-5

 

Mother –Daughter Book Club - Thursday, February 1, 6-7 pm Join Amanda for a book chat and related craft: This month, Hale’s Princess Academy. For Grades 3-6

 

Teen Lounge - Friday, February 2, 9, 16, and 23, 2:30-4:30 pm Celebrate the end of the week with Nicole! Grades 6-12

 

Baby Sensory Time - Monday, February 5, 11 am-Noon Join Amanda for some tummy time with your baby and toys that appeal to all the senses—great opportunity for early interaction with other babies!

 

Magic Tree House Book Club - Thursday, February 8, 3:45-4:45 pm Join Mary for another book, another adventure. This month, we’ll be following in Jack and Annie’s ninja footsteps. You can pick up a copy of Night of the Ninjas at the children’s desk. Grades 1-3

 

 Storytimes

 

Baby Storytime - Fridays at 11 am For caregivers with children ages birth-18 months. Delight and stimulate your baby’s senses with books, songs, toys and puppets! Build brain power!

 

Toddler Storytime - Tuesdays & Wednesdays at 10:30am For caregivers with children 18-36 months.

Interact with your toddler to nurture a love of books. Be active with music and movement!

 

Preschool Storytime - Wednesdays at 11am & Fridays at 1pm For caregivers with children ages 3-6 years.

Help your preschooler get ready to read. Enjoy stories together and build language skills!

 

Pajama Storytime - Tuesdays at 7 pm For caregivers with children ages 3-7. Bring your favorite stuffed animal & blanket, and snuggle in for some evening storytime fun!
