Letter from VP Mike Pence Honors Burlington Olympian

During Monday night’s Board of Selectmen meeting, Chairman Chris Hartling received a special letter regarding the Burlington native and Olympic gold winner, Kali Flanagan.

The letter was sent in by Vice President Mike Pence. In the letter, Pence congratulates Flanagan and her teammates for representing the United States in the Olympics.

Vice President Pence said he was privileged to watch American Athletes go for the gold during his time in South Korea.

“I am proud to join the people of Burlington and honoring your community’s own, Kali Flanagan as a member of the U.S Olympic Women’s Hockey Team in PyeongChang, South Korea.” Pence stated.

Vice President Mike Pence connected the team’s actions on the ice to the strength of the nation.

“Together the members of the Olympic team represent the strength of our nation and the destiny of American greatness at home and around the world,” Pence said. “I join Americans everywhere and applauding these athletes, cheering them on as they reach their dreams.”  

Finally, Vice President Pence expressed his admiration for Flanagan, and the community of Burlington.


“On behalf of the American people I want you to know how proud we are of your community of representing America on the world stage.”Vice President Pence Commended.
