Letter to the Editor: Kevin Sullivan Announces Re-Election Bid for Recreation Commission
The following is a Letter to the Editor:
I am pleased to announce my candidacy for re- election as one of your Recreation Commissioners. I have served for 16 years, several as Chairman or Vice-Chairman. I want to thank the residents of Burlington for supporting the Recreation Department and our great employees as we try to enrich the lives of Burlington residents and children with great trips, events and activities.
Involvement in this great community has been important to me. I have also served on the previous Master Plan, Bike Path, Dog Park, and cemetery Oversight Committees. I served on the Memorial School Building Committee, as well as coached youth soccer, baseball and hockey.
The Rotary Club of Burlington honored me as their Citizen of the Year, plus I have been inducted into the Burlington High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
As a Burlington High School graduate, and have an Accounting Degree from Babson College, I also have a Degree in Mortuary Science from New England Institute of Applied Arts and Science. I operate our family's business, Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home here in Burlington, and have since my father's passing 30 years ago. As a funeral director I am entrusted with caring for and assisting people and families during their saddest days.
As a recreation director, I use many of the same skills in understanding and listening of the concerns and needs of our constituents to enhance the daily lives with great programs, activities, where adults and children learn new activities, can exercise, enjoy the outdoors and meet other great residents of this great town.
I look forward to continue to serve as one of you Recreation Commissioners and I would appreciate your vote on Election Day, Saturday, April 8, 2017, from 8am to 8pm. The polls are located at the high school auditorium.
Please bring non-perishable food products to donate to People Helping People, who will have a table inside the front door of the auditorium. Any and all donations to the PHP Burlington Food Pantry would be appreciated.
Kevin Sullivan, candidate for re-election Recreation Commission
