Mobile 'Greenhouse Education Center' Coming to Burlington

A group dedicated to teaching residents about the science behind greenhouse fruit and vegetable growing is coming to Burlington.

The Canada-based greenhouse designer, building group and greenhouse grower NatureFresh Farms is on a mission to tackle the uncertainty of how greenhouse vegetables are grown. To accomplish this goal they have built a unique, portable greenhouse that teaches people the science behind greenhouses and plant growth.

“We cannot bring thousands of people to our greenhouses in Leamington, Ontario and Delta, Ohio so we decided that we would bring the greenhouse to the city” a notice from the group states. “We have embarked on a journey, the #GreenInTheCity Tour, with our one-of-a-kind mobile Greenhouse Education Center (GEC). The GEC travels to retail stores, summer camps, and schools throughout eastern North America informing consumers about how greenhouse vegetables are grown.”

The GEC will be at the Burlington Wegmans from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 13.
