People Helping People Thanks Those Who Helped Sort Wish Tree Gifts

By: BNEWS

Burlington's leading charity organization is thanking members of the community who worked hard to help ensure everyone has a wonderful holiday season.

People Helping People would like to thank Burlington resident Joanna Schlansky and her group of elves (including her daughter Rachel and husband Bob) for all their efforts this past Sunday morning as they bagged and prepared over 1,000  gifts that were processed through the wish tree,” the group said. “People Helping People is very fortunate to have people like Joanna and the countless others in our community that helped with the Wish Tree this holiday Season.”

The Holiday Wish Tree program, started in the 1970s, allows people to purchase gifts requested made by children in need in Burlington. This year there were 80 families with over 200 children signed up to receive gifts, which means a lot of sorting and preparation.
