Police Warn Residents to Lock Cars After Rash of Nearby Break-Ins

By: Rich Hosford

The Burlington Police Department is warning that cars were broken into in neighboring Woburn last night near the Burlington line.

“Woburn had a number of car breaks last night near the Burlington line in the Winter Street and Peach Orchard area,” the department posted on Facebook. “We have had at least one report on Maguire.”

Police say that if your car was broken into last night or if you have any video or helpful information to call them at 781-272-1212.

They also warned residents to take preventative measures to help protect their property.

“Also, please lock your car doors!” they wrote. “The overwhelming majority of motor vehicle breaks we have had for the past decade have been overnight breaks of unlocked cars in their driveways. This has also been the case around the country.”
