Popular WBZ Radio Personality Mel Simonds to Speak at Historical Society Meeting

Meet a local celebrity and enjoy an evening with the Burlington Historical Society.

The society is hosting a presentation by author and WBZ radio personality Mel Simons at its Thursday, March 1 meeting.

“Mel has honed his ‘make 'em laugh skills’ on WBZ radio with Larry Glick, Steve LaVeille and Bob Reilly,” the invite reads. “You might catch him on air now with Bradley Jay and Morgan White, Jr.   A surer bet is his appearance in person at the March 1, meeting of the Burlington Historical Society where his focus will be Saint Patrick's Day and Irish humor.”

Simons has been a regular on the radio for many years. His many shows include “The Golden Age of Radio”, “The Golden Days of Television”, “The Golden Days of Rock & Roll” and “Strictly Sinatra” to name a few.

Mel's appearance is benefit of a grant from the Burlington Cultural Council,” the Historical Society said. “Our thanks to the Cultural Council.”

The show is open to the public on Thursday, March 1, at the Murray-Kelly wing of the Human Services Building, 61 Center Street.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m.  Mel Simons' show is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.  Refreshments, a short business meeting and a Raffle finish up the evening.  There is no admittance charge.
