Popular WBZ Radio Personality Mel Simonds to Speak at Historical Society Meeting

Meet a local celebrity and enjoy an evening with the Burlington Historical Society.

The society is hosting a presentation by author and WBZ radio personality Mel Simons at its Thursday, September 7 meeting.

“For a laid back, relaxing evening's entertainment, Mel is the man!” the meeting invite says. “He specializes in Trivia Shows as well as, "good old-fashioned sing-a-longs to lift our spirits.  Add a large dose of laughter and you've got the prescription for a knee-slapping, fun-filled time!"

Simons has been a regular on the radio for many years on shows with personalities like Larry Glick, Steve Leveilie and Bob Raleigh. His many shows include “The Golden Age of Radio”, “The Golden Days of Television”, “The Golden Days of Rock & Roll” and “Strictly Sinatra” to name a few.

The presentation is open to the Public on Thursday, September 7th, at the Murray-Kelly wing of the Human Services Building, 61 Center Street in Burlington.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the Mel Simons presentation at 7:30 p.m.  This will be followed by refreshments, a short business meeting and end with a raffle.  There is no admittance charge.
