Rep. Gordon Visits Northeastern University Innovation Campus in Burlington

Burlington’s state representative recently got an education on some of the innovative research being done in the field of life sciences here in town.

State Representative Ken Gordon, D-Bedford, sat in on a talk and tour of the Burlington-based Northeastern University campus last Thursday, June 20, a release from his office says.

Gordon listened as officials spoke on the building project, along with the school’s newest initiative, which will establish a training program in biomanufacturing analysis and quality control.

The Northeaster Biopharmaceutical Analysis Training Laboratory tour took officials through the campus’s newest facility, which while still under construction, is on track to welcome staff this summer.

According to the university their plan is, “to build out two additional laboratories: a mock GMP suite and a biomanufacturing suite, in addition to, purchasing training equipment, including a manufacturing scale bioreactor and purification system for the biomanufacturing suite, and instrumentation upgrades to the campus’ mass spectrometry laboratory.”
