Rotary Club of Burlington Announces Fall Speaker Line-Up


The Rotary Club of Burlington, a community service organization, said in a release it is pleased to announce a “dynamic and exciting” line-up of speakers this fall.

Burlington Mall Director of Mall Marketing and Bussiness Development Sheila Hennessy will join the club on September 6 to give an update on all the changes, the new restaurants and shops coming to the Mall.

Eric Fisher, Chief Meteorologist for CBS Boston’s WBZ-TV News who anchors weather segments weeknights at 5, 6, and 11 p.m., as well as WBZ-TV News at 10 p.m. on myTV38 (WSBK-TV) will speak on September 13.  Eric is also a frequent contributor to the CBS News, often found reporting on breaking severe weather across the country on the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley.

On October 25, Jackie Bruno, Entertainment & Lifestyle Reporter for NBC10 Boston will give the club all the latest gossip from Hollywood, the release states. She has reported live from the Golden Globes and interviewed countless celebrities, including Mark Wahlberg, Jennifer Lopez, and the cast of “This is Us.” She also produces segments for her “Uniquely Boston” series, in which she scours the region for compelling stories about the people and places that make Boston special.

Venessa Welch, Co-Anchor on Fox 25 News, will visit the club on November 8. 

“Vanessa has covering important and impactful news stories across Massachusetts,” Rotary says. “Vanessa traveled with local lawmakers to Colorado as they studied the ramifications of legalizing marijuana, reported live from Orlando following the 2016 Pulse Night Club Shooting and has reported at length on the state’s opioid crisis and the Merrimack Valley Gas Explosions. She’s also had the good fortune of covering Patriots and Red Sox World Championships and victory parades since coming to Boston.”

The Rotary Club of Burlington is a community service organization that meets weekly at the Hilton Garden Inn, 5 Wheeler Road, Burlington. This year the club’s President is Burlington resident Roger Bell. 

“The Club does many service projects that benefit the community of Burlington such as Special Olympics, the Senior Citizens and People Helping People,” the release states. “We encourage and welcome guests to come and hear these dynamic and exciting speakers.”
