Rotary Club of Burlington to Host Globe Spotlight Team's Andrew Ryan

A Burlington club will welcome a member of one of the state’s most renown investigative journalist teams.

The Rotary Club of Burlington said it is excited to announce that Andrew Ryan, a member of the Globe Spotlight Team, will be speaking this Friday at the group’s weekly luncheon at the Hilton Garden Inn, 5 Wheeler Road, at Noon.

Andrew Ryan is an investigative reporter for The Boston Globe who joined the paper in 2006. In 2010, he became City Hall bureau chief and covered the final term of longtime Mayor Thomas M. Menino and the first term of Mayor Martin J. Walsh.

“He has worked to keep elected officials accountable and has written about influence peddling in state and city government,” a release from Burlington Rotary says.

Ryan was part of a team of reporters who wrote an award-winning, five-part series about the Bodoin-Geneva neighborhood of Boston. Prior to joining the Globe, Ryan wrote for the Associated Press in Boston, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale, The Day in New London, Conn., and the Highbridge Horizon in the Bronx.  Andrew also was part of the Spotlight article about Aaron Hernandez
