Saturday Crash Saw Vehicle Strike Liquor Store

By: BNEWS

A motor vehicle accident involving a building caused major damage to a Burlington liquor store but fortunately resulted in no injuries.

The Liquor Cabinet at 32 Winn Street reported on Facebook that at approximately 10 a.m. on Saturday an elderly woman drove her vehicle into the building. The crash cracked the brick wall and set a glass door off its hinge.

“Inside the damage was extreme,” the store said on social media. “Every nip, pint and liter that was on the shelves came crashing onto the floor. Bottles broke sending liquor all over and glass shattered.”

One employee, manager Steve Tomeo, had to jump over the counter to avoid being struck during the crash.

The statement said nobody was injured in the incident.
