Town Offering Free Shred Day to Residents to Dispose of Documents

Do you have sensitive documents with personal identity information that you want to get rid of?

Don’t throw them away. Identity thieves will often scour trash bags for personal information they can use to commit fraud.

Burlington Town Clerk Amy Warfield will be running a resident paper shred morning in the Town Hall parking lot on Saturday, September 28 from 9 a.m. to noon or until the truck being used to haul away the shredded documents if full.

Residents can bring up to two boxes of paper to be shredded for free and rest assured the documents are thoroughly destroyed. The boxes can be as big as you can carry.

This event is for Burlington residents only and participants will need to show an ID with a Burlington address.

Warflied asks that everyone remove all metal, including paper clips, binder clips and metal rings before shredding.

If you have any questions, call the Clerk’s office at 781-270-1660.
