Training Sessions

 

BCAT offers a variety of training workshops from the beginner level to advanced levels and a variety of areas of production. Whether your interest is in learning the basics or honing your skills with post production special effects or learning the advanced features of shooting with our cameras, we have workshops to meet your needs.

Orientation Monday, October 30th  

 

Welcome to BCAT. Come on in for a tour of our high tech facility, learn the variuos ways BCAT makes media available to those in Burlington and maybe get treated to some BCAT swag.

Basic Camcorder - Tuesday, November 7th      

 

Learn to use BCAT's Canon FX100 Camcorders for on location shooting. We'll show you the basics on how to se our camcorders, microphones and tripods. You'll even receive tips on the esthetics of shooting like camera movement and frame composition.

Intro to the TV Studio - Wednesday, November 15th   

 

Learn all you need to for a studio production as a complete beginner or for a refresher. You'll learn how easy it is to operate the cameras for basic 3-point shooting. Operate the audio board, create graphics and direct on our state-of-the-art Tricaster broadcast switcher.

Premiere Pro Editing  - Monday, December 11th    

 

You shot out on location and now it’s time to edit all that raw footage with Adobe's Premiere Pro. Learn to pick out the best takes and place the footage sequentially. Create text and graphics and make your production look really cool.

BCAT Film Group  - Monday, December 4th    

BCAT Flim Group is for adults with an interest in creating a short film. This initial meeting will be to brainstorm story ideas and get people acquainted with the steps and skills involved in making a film.

All are welcome regardless of experience, as the group will be learning the various aspects of filmmaking together.
