15 Burlington Students Win Scholastic Arts and Writing Awards

Burlington students keep on garnering achievements.

“Burlington Public Schools is proud to announce that our students received 15 individual awards in this year’s Scholastic Art & Writing Awards,” the department said in a blog post.

This year, the regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards received a total of 8,609 total submissions between the art and writing categories: 5,877 total art submissions and 2,732 total writing submissions.

Gold Key awards were given to Navya Garg for both writing and photography. Anna Perl also was awarded a Gold Key award in the Drawing/Illustration category, the blog states. Gold Key award-winning work will be exhibited at the Massachusetts Scholastic Art and Writing Awards regional online exhibition. The Gold Key work is now in competition and being reviewed at the national level by panels of creative professionals. National Medalists selected by these panelists will be announced mid-March.
