Town Meeting voted to raise and appropriate $40,000.00 to fund the services of an Affordable Housing Coordination position. The money is set to come from local receipts raised by house demolition fees. The Board of Selectmen recently approved the Town of Burlington Building Department to raise house demolition fees to $1,000. Burlington averages fifty demolitions a year, procuring funds that will be spent under the direction of the Town Administrator in coordination with the Housing Partnership Committee. The article passed by majority vote.
