Red Devils Track Compete in MIAA All State Track & Field Meet of Champions

Red Devils track competed in the MIAA All State Track & Field Meet of Champions at Jerry Gravel Track at Westfield State University from June 2nd to the 4th.

Here are some of the results from the meet:

2 Mile
5th place Rithikh Prakash- 8:14.89
Prakash performance earned him at spot in the championship division at Nationals in Philadelphia, PA.

Pentathlon
4th place Elijah Wolinski

4×400 Meter Relay
10th place Anthony Abbott, Eric Sekyaya, Anthony Minichiello, and Quinn Flaherty- 3:29.11 (Earned spot in Nationals)

On June 16 and 17 Rithikh Prakash will be competing in the New Balance Nationals Outdoor National Championship in Philadelphia, PA for two events. On the 16th, Prakash will run the 5K event and the 2mile on the 17th. Good luck Rithikh!

Anthony Abbott, Eric Sekyaya, Anthony Minichiello and Quinn Flaherty all are attended the same event as well on June 19, as they will be competing in the 4×400.

Robert Parris

Robert Parris is BCAT’s Sports and Features Reporter. Robert first got involved with BCAT in January 2016 as a volunteer news reporter. Throughout the year, as a volunteer, he was busy developing his technical skills at the studio and his ENG skills in the field. In the summer of 2017, Robert joined the team full-time. He quickly settled into his role, providing all of the production support for our news programs, as well as providing weekly sports highlights. Robert also produces a weekly feature for BNEWS, as well as a monthly show called, BNEWS Sports Hub, and BCAT’s Game of the Week.
