The Stoneham-based Ahern Family Charitable Foundation will hold its 21st Annual Army-Navy Football Luncheon fundraiser on Saturday, December 14th, 2024 at the Scoreboard Sports Bar & Grill in Woburn. Proceeds from the luncheon will support Massachusetts children of fallen and deployed troops this holiday season through Operation Santa-Massachusetts, a program created in partnership with the Military Friends Foundation.
As part of the luncheon, attendees of the event will watch the 125th Army-Navy Football game across dozens of widescreen HDTVs in the Scoreboard Sports Bar & Grill. When they aren’t watching one of the oldest rivalries in American sports, guests will also enjoy a buffet lunch, raffles, and silent and live auctions.
Local media personalities, entertainers and business people join the event’s Honorary Host Committee and will be in attendance including WBZ 1030AM Traffic Reporter Lori Grande, CBS Boston Reporter Levan Reid, Magic 106.7 Morning Host David O’Leary, Boston Radio Personality Amy Brooks, WBZ 1030 AM’s Matt Phipps, Boston 25 News Chief Meteorologist Kevin Lemanowicz, WHDH-TV’s Kimberly Bookman, and others.
The Ahern Family Charitable Foundation is a Massachusetts-based non-profit organization established in 2001 after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Through fundraising efforts, the foundation makes financial grants to military support organizations that provide services to veterans and current members of the U.S. military and their families.
The annual luncheon raises funds to support Operation Santa- Massachusetts through a partnership with the Military Friends Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to families associated with the Massachusetts National Guard and Reserve. Proceeds will be used to provide holiday gift cards to more than 100 children of deployed and fallen Massachusetts soldiers. To date the Army-Navy Football Luncheon fundraiser has raised more than $150,000.
