The 2021 Winter Sports Season is fast approaching and the BHS Athletic Department is preparing for lies ahead.
Athletes can register now at the schools website There you will find Family ID Registration which closes on December 9. You will also find Athletic Virtual Coaches Informational Sessions, 2020/2021 Athletic Updates, tryout schedules and more.
Some of the rules for the Winter Season are:
- – Masks wearing is required for all participants coaches, and staff at practices and games. In accordance with Burlington Public School health and safety policies, GAITERS ARE NOT PERMITTED for athletic participation.
- – All student-athletes participating in a Winter sport must have an IN-PERSON physical within the last 13 months (must be dated 11/14/19 or later) on file with the athletic office. The physical can be uploaded to Family ID with registration or the physical can be emailed to ndoherty@bpsk12.org Despite the pandemic, the Massachusetts DPH will NOT accept physicals via telehealth for fall sports participation.
- – There will be no school-provided transportation provided to games, meets or matches in Burlington or in other communities, and on Saturdays and holidays for respective games.
- – Attendance at all practices and games will be strictly monitored. Every participating student-athlete will be required to answer 4 questions relative to COVID screening with their coach before the start of every practice and game during the 2020/21 Winter Season. Additional protocols can/will be added as needed to insure a safe return to play.

Robert Parris is BCAT’s Sports and Features Reporter. Robert first got involved with BCAT in January 2016 as a volunteer news reporter. Throughout the year, as a volunteer, he was busy developing his technical skills at the studio and his ENG skills in the field. In the summer of 2017, Robert joined the team full-time. He quickly settled into his role, providing all of the production support for our news programs, as well as providing weekly sports highlights. Robert also produces a weekly feature for BNEWS, as well as a monthly show called, BNEWS Sports Hub, and BCAT’s Game of the Week.
