BHS Marching Band in Hasty Pudding Parade

The Burlington HS Marching Band is proud to announce they have accepted an invitation to participate in the Hasty Pudding Woman of the Year Parade on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 1:45 p.m., at Harvard University. The Hasty Puddings Theatrical’s 2025 Woman of the Year is Cynthia Erivo. 

The Hasty Pudding Theatricals bestows annual Man of the Year and Woman of the Year awards to performers who have made lasting and impressive contributions to the world of entertainment, garnering widespread local and national media coverage.

Cynthia Erivo is a Grammy, Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress, singer and producer, as well as an Academy Award, Golden Globe, BAFTA, and SAG nominee. Erivo burst onto West End and Broadway stages in THE COLOR PURPLE and has since taken the world by storm. 

Erivo most recently starred as Elphaba opposite Ariana Grande’s Glinda in Universal’s record-breaking film adaptation of the hit musical WICKED. WICKED Part One opened at number one and has since become the highest grossing movie ever at the domestic box office based on a Broadway musical. Erivo has received widespread critical acclaim and rave reviews for her performance as Elphaba including SAG, Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award nominations. The Hasty Pudding parade route runs from the Inn at Harvard to Farkas Hall.The parade is part of the Hasty Pudding Theatricals’ annual event that honors a Man or Woman of the Year. Stay tuned to BCAT for pics and video from the band at the parade.

Previous Woman of the Year honorees include Julia Roberts, Halle Berry, Scarlett Johansson, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Garner, Amy Poehler, and Helen Mirren.
