BHS Spring Sports Week in Review: Softball Continued its Win Streak and Unified Basketball/Volleyball Began Inaugural Seasons

The third week of the spring season started with two inaugural seasons starts and continued win streaks for track and softball.

Varsity Tennis:

Girls Varsity Tennis:
The Lady Devils tennis team competed against the Red Raiders of Watertown at Rahanis on April 12 where they won 5-0. Winners from the meet were capt. Annabel Wiley, capt. Haylee Doiron, Valerie Kin, Gabby Mallard, Anna Perl, Sonali Patel and Alessia Pedrussi. On April 14 the girls had a home meet against Melrose at Rahanis. Burlington lost the meet 1-4 and go to (2-4) on the season. The Lady Devils will be back in action at the Dobbins Tennis Courts in Wakefield on April 25.

Boys Varsity Tennis:
Burlington visited Watertown on April 12 for an away meet against the Red Raiders and won by a shutout score of 5-0. Burlington had another away meet in Melrose on April 14 where they had a 5-0 victory. Winners from the meets were  Andrew Perl, Soham Shah, Aditya Pathak, Brendan Gray, Krish Soni, Malachi Riley and Arnesh Yeola. The Red Devils improve to (4-2) and will have another away meet in Wilmington on April 27.

Varsity Lacrosse:

Girls Varsity Lacrosse:
Lady Devils Lacrosse had a wild finish to the game against Lexington on April 13 as they won 14-13 in overtime.  For video highlights click here Check out the game in its entirety here Burlington improves to (3-3) on the season after having an away game in Andover on April 19 where the team won by three 14-11. The Lady Devils will have another away game in Methuen on April 21 at the Methuen Nicholson Stadium.

Boys Varsity Lacrosse:
The Red Devils were on the road this past week. Burlington had an away game in Lexington on April 14 where they lost 6-11. They then had another one in Waltham on April 18 as they secured a win of 19-8. Burlington improves to (2-3) on the season and the game against was Masco was rained out.

Varsity Baseball:
Red Devil Baseball had the home opener on April 12 against Stoneham where they won in a tight match of 5-4. On April 14 they had an away game with the Watertown Red Raiders and they won by a point in the 1-0 victory. On April 16 they had another away game against Nauset Regional where they fell 3-14. Burlington is currently (3-2) and will compete at Morelli Field in Melrose on April 20.

Varsity Softball:
Lady Devils Softball team continued their hot streak in the past two games. On April 12 they had an away game in Stoneham where won in shutout fashion on 15-0.

Burlington was back at Marvin Field on April 14 for a home game against Watertown. The Lady Devils won over the Red Raiders 19-6 and move to (5-0) on the season. They will have another home game on April 20 against Melrose.

Varsity Track:
The win streak continued on April 13 for both track teams at Victory Field in Watertown.

Girls Varsity Track:
The Lady Devils Track team keep finding a way to win this spring with a 86.5 to 49.5 victory over Watertown on April 13. Burlington moves to (2-0) and will have a home meet against Melrose on April 26.

Boys Varsity Track:
Red Devils Track came out on top in another one-sided affair over Watertown 101-35. Burlington will have a home meet against Melrose on April 26.

Four Burlington Alumni ran the 126 Boston Marathon on Patriots Day April 18. Check out the article here 

Varsity Volleyball:
Red Devil volleyball kicked off the inaugural season in Medford on April 14. Burlington finished the meet 3-1 over the Mustangs. In the first set the Red Devils won 25-15, in the second they beat Medford 25-10 and lost in the third set 23-25. The Devils finished it off in the fourth with a 25-12 set win. Burlington start the season at (1-0) and will have the home opener against Salem on April 27.

Co-Ed Unified Basketball:
The Burlington Unified basketball team began the inaugural season on April 13 in Stoneham where they got the win 57 to 52. The Red Devils start the season at (1-0) will have the home opener on April 27 against Lexington. For the video feature click hereÂ
