BHS Teacher Up for “America’s Favorite Teacher”

Burlington High School’s Band Director and music educator Tim Ketterer is in the running to be “America’s Favorite Teacher”, and you can vote for him

The winning teacher will be written about in Reader’s Digest, highlighting the educator’s influence on students and education. The winner will also win $25,000, a Hawaiian getaway and a virtual school assembly with Bill Nye the Science Guy.

According to Ketterer’s contestant profile, “Growing up in the music hall was a second home to me. I love teaching and creating music, fostering a shared curiosity and passion in my kids.”

Ketterer has made an impact with the BHS percussion ensemble, a program that has tripled in participation. Ketterer applied for and received a grant for more equipment and staff to aid the percussion program.

Ketterer also recently helped lead the BHS Marching Band in the Harvard Hasty Pudding parade honoring “Wicked” actress Cynthia Erivo.
